Medical Description
Cheston Cold Tablet is a medication used to relieve symptoms of the common cold, including a runny nose, blocked nose, fever, and sneezing. It has three main ingredients: paracetamol to reduce fever and pain, cetirizine to help alleviate allergy symptoms such as sneezing and a runny nose, and phenylephrine to ease nasal congestion. It helps you feel better when you have a cold or flu-like symptoms.
Always take Cheston Cold Tablet exactly as your doctor tells you. Do not take more than the recommended dose, and do not use it for longer than the advised duration. If you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor about any other medicines you are taking, including herbal or over-the-counter products. Also, please let them know if you have any medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, liver problems, or heart issues. This will help avoid any harmful effects or interactions with other medicines.
Cheston Cold is not meant for children under 12 years of age. Also, avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can make you feel extra sleepy or dizzy. Be cautious if you need to drive or operate machinery after taking it.
Some people may experience side effects such as headache, dizziness, nausea, or vomiting. These are usually mild and go away on their own. However, if they continue or become bothersome, it’s a good idea to speak to your doctor. There are other similar medicines, such as Okacet Cold Tablet, Oncet CF Tablet, Wincold Z Tablet, and Cozymin Plus Tablet, but only take the one your doctor prescribes.

How Does It Work?
- Certain chemicals (prostaglandins) released in the body are responsible for fever and pain. Paracetamol blocks the effect of these chemicals and help to relieve fever and mild painful conditions like body ache.
- Cetirizine inhibits the allergic symptoms produced by histamines (a certain chemical substance released by the body).
- Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts the blood vessels in the nose and sinuses and thus improves symptoms like stuffy nose and improves breathing.
