Brilinta 90mg Bottle Of 180 Tablets
Description
Brilinta Tablet is a prescription medication primarily used to manage and prevent cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes in patients with a history of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), unstable angina, or those who have undergone stent placement. The active ingredient in Brilinta is Ticagrelor, which belongs to a class of medications known as antiplatelet agents or P2Y12 receptor inhibitors. It is often referred to as a "blood thinner," although it technically works by inhibiting platelet aggregation, rather than thinning the blood itself. Unlike traditional antiplatelet agents such as clopidogrel, Ticagrelor has a faster onset of action and does not require metabolic activation, making it more predictable in its effect. Brilinta is usually prescribed alongside low-dose aspirin and should be taken exactly as recommended by your physician.
Patients are advised not to discontinue the tablet without medical guidance, as abrupt cessation may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including heart attack or stroke. The medication is not suitable for individuals with active bleeding, a history of intracranial haemorrhage, or severe liver dysfunction. It is also contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to Ticagrelor or any component of the formulation.
Do not miss or skip a dose of this medication. You may experience bleeding, difficulty bleeding, or headaches while on this medication. If these symptoms worsen, contact the nearest doctor or clinic. Avoid contact with sharp objects, as this can lead to excessive bleeding; for example, knives, blades, scissors, axes, etc.
