Aztor 40 tablet is a lipid-lowering medicine containing atorvastatin, also known as statins. It is used to treat high cholesterol levels. Aztor 40 helps in lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It can lower the bad cholesterol level and also reduce the risk of any heart disease.
Aztor 40 should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. It should preferably be taken at bedtime to gain optimum benefits. You should avoid consuming high-fat and fried meals and also maintain a healthy and active lifestyle to gain optimum benefits along with Aztor 40 tablet. Atorva 40mg tablet, Tonact 40mg tablet, Storvas 40mg tablet and Lipvas 40mg tablet are some other medicines with atorvastatin as their active medicines.
Lifestyle modifications such as a cholesterol-lowering diet and increased physical activity such as walking, running, jogging, yoga, swimming, etc.

Contraindications
- If you are allergic to atorvastatin or any other components of the Aztor 40 tablet.
- If you have or ever had any liver disease, any abnormality in liver function test.
- If you are being treated with medicines for hepatitis C like glecaprevir/pibrentasvir.
- If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

- You have any thyroid problems.
- You cannot digest lactose (lactose intolerance).
- You are above 70 years of age.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way the Aztor 40 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- HIV medications such as ritonavir with the Aztor 40 tablet can result in severe side effects.
- Erythromycin (antibiotic) taken with the Aztor 40 tablet can result in increased side effects.
- It should be ensured that fusidic acid is taken in a proper gap with this medicine, a minimum gap of seven days is advised.
