• If you are allergic to atorvastatin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
• If you have liver disease and your liver tests are abnormal.
• If you are being treated with medicines for hepatitis C like glecaprevir or pibrentasvir.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Headache
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Indigestion
• Constipation
• Muscle pain
• Joint pains

Other General Warnings

• You have any underlying medical condition like diabetes, liver or kidney disease, thyroid problems, respiratory problems, or muscle-related problems.
• You have a history of stroke with bleeding inside the brain.
• You have repeated muscle pains or a history of muscle-related problems
• You have recently, or in the last 7 days, taken medicine for bacterial infection like fusidic acid, as this may cause serious muscle injury
• You are an alcoholic.
• You are elderly, above 70 years of age.
• You are already taking any other medicines for health conditions.

• It should be taken as directed by your doctor in the duration and doses it is prescribed
• Take this medicine as a whole with a sufficient amount of water with or without food.
• Take the medicine at the same time every day.

• Store Atorva tablets below 25°C in a cool and dry place.
• Keep it out of the reach of children.
• Discard any unused medicine properly.

• Atorva 40 Tablet contains Atorvastatin, a lipid-lowering medicine used to reduce high blood cholesterol levels (hyperlipidemia) when diet and lifestyle changes are insufficient.
• It helps in lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglyceride levels in the blood, preventing fat particles from depositing in blood vessels and reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and related health problems.
• Atorva 40 Tablet can be used in adults and children aged 10 years or above.
• To achieve better results, it should be accompanied by a cholesterol-lowering diet, lifestyle changes, and regular physical activity as advised by the doctor.
• Alcohol and grapefruit juice consumption should be avoided during Atorva 40 Tablet therapy as it may decrease its effectiveness.
• Patients with lung, liver, kidney, or heart problems should inform their doctor before taking Atorva 40 Tablets.
• Individuals with diabetes, thyroid issues, or a family history of muscle disorders should also consult their doctor before using this medication.
• Close monitoring of blood sugar levels and liver functions is essential during therapy, as Atorva 40 Tablet may increase blood sugar levels and affect liver function.
• Common side effects may include nasal passage inflammation, throat pain, muscle ache, joint pain, back pain, constipation, nausea, and headache. Consult the doctor if any side effects worsen or if severe unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness with fever occurs after taking Atorva 40 Tablet.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Atorva 40 tablet works or this tablet itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines if taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are taking to avoid any possible interaction.
• Especially if you are taking other cholesterol-lowering medicines, anticoagulants like warfarin, blood pressure-lowering medicines, painkillers like phenazone, anti-infectives, anti-HIV medicines like ritonavir, medicines used to treat hepatitis C like telaprevir, antacids etc.

Interactions with food items

• You should avoid consuming grapefruit juice during the treatment, as it can alter the effect of this medicine.
