Medical Description
Azee 500 tablet is an antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for infections of the chest, such as pneumonia, sinus infections, ear infections, throat infections, lung infections, and skin infections. It is also effective against certain sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhoea and chlamydia. The active ingredient in Azee 500 is azithromycin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria causing the infection.
It is very important to take Azee 500 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Even if you start to feel better within a few days, do not stop the medication on your own. Completing the full course helps ensure the infection is fully treated and prevents bacteria from becoming resistant to the antibiotic.
Like most medicines, Azee 500 can cause some side effects. The most common ones include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, and indigestion. These usually resolve on their own. However, in rare cases, some individuals may experience an allergic reaction such as a skin rash, itching, swelling, or shortness of breath. If you notice these symptoms or if they worsen, seek medical help immediately.
Other brands that contain azithromycin in the same strength include Azithral 500, Azicip 500, Azax 500, and Azifast 500. Although they contain the same active ingredient, always consult your doctor before switching brands.
Before starting Azee 500, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. You should also notify your doctor of any other health issues and all medications or supplements you are taking to avoid potential interactions. With proper use under medical supervision, Azee 500 is a safe and effective treatment for bacterial infections.

- Do not take any medicine on your own without confirming with your doctor during treatment with Azee 500 tablet. Antacids should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after the antibiotic.
