Azicip 500 MG Description

Azicip 500 tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections of the ears, throat, lungs, skin, soft tissues and urinary tract. Azicip 500 contains azithromycin as its active component. It works by killing the infection-causing bacteria.

Take Azicip 500 tablets in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip a dose or consume more than the dose recommended by the doctor. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Azithromycin is also the active ingredient in the medications Azithral 500, Azee 500, Azax 500, and Azifast 500 tablets. Azicip 500 tablets or any antibiotic medicine should only be used when prescribed. Unwanted use of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance and make them inactive against infection in the future.

Uses of Azicip 500 MG

For the treatment of bacterial infections in the ears, lungs, throat, tonsils, airways, nasal passage, skin, and soft tissue.
For the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia.
Pneumonia or lung infections due to coming in contact with an infected person (CAP).
Infection of the urinary system and genital parts in females.

Contraindications of Azicip 500 MG

If you are allergic to azithromycin or any other antibiotic from the same class like erythromycin or any ingredient of Azicip 500 tablet.

Can I drive if I have consumed Azicip 500 tablet?

If you observe or experience any side effects like dizziness after taking Azicip 500 tablet, you should not drive or use machines. Contact your doctor or pharmacist for further information.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Azicip 500 tablet?

You should not consume alcohol along with Azicip 500 tablet as alcohol can exaggerate the side effects like stomach upset, dizziness and drowsiness.

Complete the course of this antibiotic medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

You should always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor. Do not miss any dose and do not take more than the prescribed dose.
Before starting Azicip 500 tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding.
Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.
Do not take any medicine on your own without confirming with your doctor during treatment with Azicip 500 tablet. Antacids should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after the antibiotic.
Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea and wind (flatulence) can occur as side effects of this medicine. Inform your doctor if the side effects do not resolve even after completing the antibiotic course.

Symptoms of overdose of Azicip 500 tablet may be diarrhoea, loss of hearing, and feeling sick. Seek medical attention in case you have consumed too much of this medicine.
