Axycef Dc Tablets
Price to be Updated
Description
tablet is a medicine used to treat various bacterial infections, including those affecting the throat, ears, sinuses, lungs, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It can also be used for dental and post-surgical infections. This combination helps cover a wide range of bacteria, making it useful when the exact cause of the infection is unknown.
The two active ingredients, cefixime and dicloxacillin, work by killing bacteria. They block the bacteria’s ability to form a protective outer wall, which is essential for their survival. Once the wall is damaged, the bacteria break apart and die, allowing your body to recover from the infection.
This medicine should not be taken if you are allergic to cephalosporins, penicillins, or similar antibiotics. It can cause side effects like nausea, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, indigestion, or a bad taste in the mouth. If any symptoms persist or become severe, consult your doctor.
Some medicines can interact with tablet, including those that affect your immune system, gout medications like allopurinol or probenecid, and even oral contraceptives, whose effectiveness may be reduced. Always inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you're taking before starting this treatment.
Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can increase stomach-related side effects. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have kidney, liver, or stomach issues, talk to your doctor first. Also, be careful when driving, as the medicine may cause dizziness or nausea. Always take the prescribed dose and do not double it if a dose is missed.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Cefixime works by stopping the growth of bacteria that cause infections. It does this by interfering with the bacteria's ability to form a protective outer wall, which is essential for their survival. Without this wall, the bacteria break apart and die, helping your body clear the infection more effectively....
- Dicloxacillin helps treat infections by killing the bacteria causing them. It works by blocking the bacteria’s ability to make a protective cell wall, which they need to live. Without this wall, the bacteria become weak and break apart, allowing your body to eliminate the infection....

- Concomitant use of tablet along with medicines that alter or weaken your immune system, like prednisone, dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, methotrexate, should be avoided.
