Description
Althrocin Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by the bacteria, such as infections of the lungs, airways, throat, ear, intestine, reproductive tract, urinary tract and skin infecti
ons. It contains erythromycin as its active substance that belongs to the macrolide class of antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, thereby preventing the spread of infection. Take this Tablet as prescribed by your doctor and for the exact prescribed duration. You should take this medicine with or after food to avoid stomach upset. You should always complete the prescribed course of the treatment. Incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure, increased risk of re-infection or developing antibiotic resistance. While on this medicine, you may experience side effects like diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and headache. If you feel the side effects persist or your condition worsens, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Contraindications
- If you are allergic to erythromycin or any other ingredients of Althrocin Tablet.
- If you are already taking other blood pressure-lowering medicines or medicines for migraine such as ergotamine, etc.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Althrocin Tablet?

Alcohol might delay the absorption of the Althrocin Tablet. Thus, you should limit the consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You have or had liver or kidney disease.
- You experience persistent diarrhoea even after stopping the treatment with this medicine.
- You have heart-related diseases such as irregular heart rate.
- You have myasthenia gravis characterised by muscle weakness.
- You have any other medical condition and are on medication.
- Althrocin Tablets should not be used by children below 2 years of age.

Althrocin Tablet inhibits bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of proteins that are essential for cell growth.
Directions for Use
Althrocin Tablet should be taken as per the correct dosage and for the exact duration prescribed by your doctor. It should be swallowed as a whole. The Tablet must not be chewed, crushed or broken.

Overdose

Missed a Dose
If you have missed any dose of Althrocin Tablet, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one....
