Alex Syrup

• If you are allergic to dextromethorphan, phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine or other ingredients of Alex syrup.
• If you have high blood pressure or any other heart-related problems.
• If you have chronic bronchitis or lower respiratory tract conditions such as asthma.
• If you are taking medicines to treat brain-related disorders.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Headache
• Dry mouth
• Drowsiness
• Dizziness

Other General Warnings

• You have asthma or other types of lung disease.
• You have glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
• You have diabetes, difficulty urinating, heart disease, high blood pressure, fits, overactive thyroid gland.
• You have ulcers in the stomach or intestine.
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You are older than 65 years of age.
• You have phenylketonuria (an inherited condition in which a special diet must be followed to prevent mental retardation).

• Take Alex syrup as directed by the doctor.
• Shake well before use.
• Use a measuring spoon or cup for exact quantities.
• Read the instructions on the bottle before usage.

• Store Alex syrup at room temperature.
• Protect it from excess heat and moisture.
• Keep this medication out of reach of children.

• Alex syrup may cause sleepiness. If you experience any such effects after taking this medicine, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks requiring mental alertness.
• Consult your doctor if your cough persists for more than four days, even after taking this medicine.
• Alex syrup should not be used in newborns or premature infants or breastfeeding mothers.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Shake well before use. Use a measuring spoon or cup for exact quantities.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Alex syrup works or reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Especially if you are taking medicines such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors for Parkinson's disease and other psychiatric diseases, severe hypertension, ventricular tachycardia, severe coronary artery disease, chronic bronchitis, glaucoma, urinary retention and peptic ulcer.
• Alex syrup should not be taken for at least two weeks after consuming certain medicines used for the treatment of brain-related disorders, such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, etc.
• Medicines used to treat infections (antibiotics), like linezolid, and medicines used to relax the muscles, like oxazepam and baclofen, should not be taken along with this syrup.
