Voglibose is used to improve blood sugar levels following a meal in patients wi
th type 2 diabetes along with diet and lifestyle modifications. It works by reducing the rate of digestion and absorption of carbohydrates. It belongs to the antidiabetic class of medicines. Voglibose is available in the form of tablet. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting voglibose.
Uses of Voglibose
Voglibose is used to improve post meal blood glucose levels (post parandial hyperglycemia) type 2 diabetic patients with diet and excercise.
Contraindications of Voglibose
When should one not use Voglibose
- If you are allergic to voglibose or similar medicines
- If you have diabetes complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma or pre-coma.
- If you have a severe infection or are undergoing surgery.
- If you recently had severe trauma or injury.
- If you have blockage in any part of your digestive system.
