Zyloric 300 MG Description
Zyloric 300 tablets are used to treat and prevent gout and high uric acid levels caused by kidney problems or certain medications. Zyloric 300 tablets contain the active ingredient allopurinol, which reduces uric acid production in the body.
Gout is a type of arthritis that causes sudden pain, redness and swelling in the joints. This is usually caused by uric acid deposits in the joints. You should not take Zyloric 300 tablets if you have kidney or liver disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding or are allergic to allopurinol. Do not recommend Zyloric 300 tablets to anyone else, even if they have similar symptoms to you.
Before taking Zyloric 300 tablets, tell your doctor about all the medications and herbal supplements you are taking and any medical conditions you have.

- You experience a severe allergic reaction to the skin after taking this medicine (Ulcersin mouth, nose, genitals, rashes and conjunctivitis).
- You have a liver or kidney function problem.
- You have high blood pressure or heart problems.
- You have a malignancy due to which your body is producing extra urate crystals.
- You may develop a condition called xanthine deposition after using this medicine. However, this can be reduced by maintaining proper hydration.
- Zyloric 300 tablets can dissolve larger uric acid crystals and can cause impaction in the ureter.
- Your TSH hormone levels may go high after using Zyloric 300 tablet.

Interactions with other medicines
- Sometimes Zyloric 300 tablet may affect the way other medicines work and other medicines may affect how Zyloric 300 tablet works, if taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
- Especially, if you are taking antibiotics such as Ampicillin or Amoxicillin, Anticancer medicines such as Cyclophosphamide, Anti-hypertensive medicines like Captopril, anti-epileptic medicines like phenytoin....
- Other medicines which are to be used with caution are medicines used for breathing problems like theophylline and immunosuppressants like Cyclosporin.
- Vidarabine, an antiviral medicine can lead to toxic side effects if taken along and therefore, close monitoring is required.
- Other anti-gout medicines like probenecid can alter the effect of Zyloric 300 tablet.
