Medical Description
Tenoclor 50 tablet is an antihypertensive medication. It contains a combination of atenolol and chlorthalidone as active substances. Tenoclor 50 tablet is used to manage high blood pressure. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Before starting Tenoclor 50 tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Uses of TENOCLOR 50MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS
Tenoclor 50 tablet is used for the management of high blood pressure in adults.
Contraindications of TENOCLOR 50MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS
- If you are allergic to atenolol, chlortalidone, sulphonamide-derived medicines or any of the other ingredients of Tenoclor 50 tablet.
- If you have or had heart disorders like slow heart rate, irregular heartbeat, the inability of your heart to pump sufficient blood, low blood pressure, poor blood circulation or -second or third-degree heart block....
- If you have a condition in which there is too much acid in the body fluids.
- If you have an untreated tumour of the adrenal glands called phaeochromocytoma.
- If you have kidney disorders.
- If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding.

- You develop swelling of the face, neck, eyelids, tongue, throat and rashes after taking this medicine.
- You have a tumour of the adrenal gland called phaeochromocytoma.
- You are scheduled for surgery with anaesthesia.
- You are elderly.
- You have low levels of potassium.
- You are taking medicines for treating heart failure (digoxin).
- You have disorders of the stomach/intestine or gout.
- You experience a decrease in vision or eye pain.
Directions for Use of TENOCLOR 50MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS
- Take Tenoclor 50 tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not discontinue the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.
Storage and disposal of TENOCLOR 50MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS
- Store Tenoclor 50 tablet in a cool and dry place below 25°C.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Overdose
- The symptoms of overdose of Tenoclor 50 tablet include low blood pressure, wheezing and coughing.
- If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
- If you missed any dose of Tenoclor 50 tablet, take it as soon as you remember.
- If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Mode of Action of TENOCLOR 50MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS
How Does It Work?
- Tenoclor 50 tablet contains a combination of atenolol and chlorthalidone as active substances.
- Atenolol works by decreasing the heart rate, lowering blood pressure and the strain on the heart.
- Chlorthalidone prevents the reabsorption of sodium and chloride by blocking the sodium/chloride symporter. This reduces the plasma and extracellular fluid volume, lowering blood pressure.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Tenoclor 50 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken simultaneously.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- The use of Tenoclor 50 tablet with medicines that decrease the heart rate like verapamil and diltiazem (used to manage heart-related chest pain and high blood pressure) may cause heart-related side effects. ...
- Medicines used to manage abnormal/irregular heartbeat (disopyramide, amiodarone) may slow down the heart rate.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating heart failure (digoxin), anaesthetic agents, mental disorders (lithium), and muscle cramps (baclofen).
- Tenoclor 50 tablet may increase the rebound hypertension that may occur after stopping clonidine (used to manage high blood pressure). If these two medicines are given together, Tenoclor 50 should be withdrawn several days before discontinuing clonidine....
- The blood pressure-reducing effect of this medicine may be decreased with medicines like ibuprofen and indometacin (used to treat pain, fever, and inflammation).
- Tenoclor 50 tablet, when used along with insulin and other oral anti-diabetic medicines, may increase the blood sugar-lowering effect of these medicines.
- The risk of low blood pressure may be increased when Teneclor 50 is used with dihydropyridines like nifedipine (used to manage high blood pressure).
