• Sofracin Skin ointment is used for the infection of hair, nails, skin, and external ears such as impetigo, furunculosis, sycosis, razor bumps, otitis media (Middle ear infection), and paronychia.
• To treat skin conditions such as burns, scalds, wounds, ulcers, and boils suspected to have a bacterial infection.
• It is also used to treat secondary infection in sores due to scabies and scratching of scalp skin due to lice.

• If you are allergic to framycetin or any other components of Sofracin Skin ointment.
• If you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant or trying to conceive.
• If you have perforations in your eardrum (a thin membrane that separates your ear canal from your middle ear).

• Sofracin Skin ointment is meant for external application.
• Use this medicine for the exact duration it is prescribed for.
• Read the instructions on the label or leaflet before use.
• Apply a thin layer of ointment and repeat as prescribed by your doctor.
• Clean and dry the infected area well.
• Wash your hands before and after using this ointment unless your hands are the area to be treated.
• Avoid touching the tip of the tube directly to the infected area of the skin.
• If you do not see any improvement in your condition within 15 days, you should consult your doctor.
• In case your eyes come in contact with Sofracin Skin ointment, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

Missed a Dose

• This ointment should not be used in children and infants without consulting a doctor.
