Pyrimethamine + Sulphadoxine is an antiparasitic medicine that acts by raising blood levels of haeme, a chemical that is poisonous to the malarial parasite. The parasite is eradicated, and the infection is stopped. It also acts as an antibiotic that prevents bacteria from making folic acid, which is necessary for bacterial growth.
