• If you are allergic to olmesartan or other ingredients of Olmesar 40 tablet.
• If you are using a medicine containing aliskiren. If you are not sure what this medicine is, please confirm with your doctor.
• If you are pregnant for over 3-months.
• If you suffer from jaundice or diabetes.
• If you have gallbladder problems or kidney disease.

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Tiredness

Other General Warnings

• You suffer from heart diseases.
• You suffer from kidney or liver problems.
• You suffer from diarrhoea, vomiting.
• You are taking high doses of water tablets (furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide).
• You are on a low-salt diet.
• You have high blood potassium levels.
• You suffer from problems with the adrenal glands.
• You are using medicines to treat high blood pressure like ramipril, lisinopril, aliskiren, etc.

• Take Olmesar 40 tablet as suggested by the doctor.
• Swallow as a whole with a glass of water or milk.
• Take with or without food.
• Do not break, crush or chew the medicine.
• Take at the same time every day for optimal results.
• Avoid taking doses more than that recommended.

• Store Olmesar 40 tablet at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.
• Keep it away from children and pets.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Olmesar 40 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Olmesar 40 tablet when taken with other blood pressure reducing medications like benazepril, captopril, and lisinopril, may alter its effects.
• Concomitant use along with medicine used for the treatment of heart diseases and high blood pressure like perindopril, candesartan, and aliskiren may increase the risk of side effects.
• Concomitant use of the medicine along with potassium supplements, medications like amiloride, and spironolactone are not recommended, as it may lead to increased potassium levels in the blood.
• Medicines like aspirin, ibuprofen, etc. may lead to kidney failure when taken together with this medicine.
• Lithium must not be taken with Olmesar 40 tablet.
• This medicine must be taken 4 hours before colesevelam (used to reduce cholesterol and fatty substances in the blood).
