Oflox OZ tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for treating diarrhoea of mixed infection in adults only. It is a combination medicine containing ofloxacin and ornidazole as active ingredients. And works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and killing the bacteria that cause infection.
Diarrhoea is a condition of passing frequent bowels with a significant decrease in the solidity of bowel movements. It makes your week tired and dizzy. Thus, while taking this medicine, it is essential to drink plenty of water and oral rehydration solution to stay hydrated and replenish lost fluid, salts & electrolytes.
A few more tablets that also contain ofloxacin and ornidazole are Nor Metrogyl Plus tablet, Zenflox Oz tablet, Zanocin Oz tablet, Healing O2 tablet, and Ornof Oz tablet. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment with this medicine. It will vary depending on the severity of the infection and other individual parameters. To treat diarrhoea of mixed infection only in adults.
Contraindications of OFLOX OZ STRIP OF 10 TABLETS
- If you are allergic to ofloxacin, ornidazole or any ingredients of Oflox OZ tablet.
- If you are allergic to a specific type of medicine called Fluoroquinolone (ask your doctor or nurse if you are unsure).
- If you have a history of fits.
- If you have problems related to a tendon (tissue connecting muscles to bones), like inflammation and swelling of the tendons (tendonitis).
- If you are pregnant or are planning to have a baby, or if you are breastfeeding.
- If your age is less than 18 years.
- If you have Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects the red blood cells) or a family history of this deficiency.
