Medical Description
Oflox 200 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for infections of the urinary tract, nose, throat, lungs (such as pneumonia), skin, soft tissues, and certain sexually transmitted diseases. The active ingredient in this medicine is Ofloxacin, which belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics. It works by preventing bacteria from multiplying and replicating themselves, thereby stopping the infection from spreading further.
This medicine should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. You can take Oflox 200 Tablet with or without food, but it is preferable to take it at the same time every day to maintain consistent levels in your body. Do not skip doses and ensure you complete the full course, even if you start feeling better, as stopping early can cause the infection to return or make the bacteria resistant to antibiotics.
Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration based on your age, the type of infection, and your medical condition. Do not self-medicate or share this medicine with others, even if they have similar symptoms. Oflox 200 Tablet should not be taken for viral infections such as the common cold or flu, as it is effective only against bacterial infections.
Like any other medicine, Oflox 200 Tablet may cause some side effects. Common ones include nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. These are usually mild and temporary, but if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor immediately. Rarely, it may cause more serious side effects, such as tendon pain, changes in vision, or nerve-related issues. If you notice anything unusual, inform your doctor immediately.
Other brands containing Ofloxacin include Zanocin 200 tablet, Zenflox 200 tablet, and Oflomac 200 tablet. All of them work in a similar way, but it is essential to take the medicine prescribed specifically for you. In addition to antibiotics, maintaining good hydration, rest, and a balanced diet will help you recover more quickly and enhance your overall health.
