Nebistar 2.5 MG Description

Nebistar Tablet contains nebivolol as its active ingredient. This medicine helps in lowering high blood pressure, thus helps to reduce the risk of serious heart diseases and stroke. It relieves chest

pain and regularizes heartbeats. This medicine is also advised in elderly patients as a combination therapy for pumping disorders of the heart (chronic heart failure). This medicine is not advised in women who are pregnant or lactating. This medicine is to be taken in the correct dosage and for the exact duration as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine is to be taken cautiously if you are already taking a blood pressure-lowering medicine, medicines to treat diabetes or an overactive thyroid.

  • If you are allergic to the active ingredient nebivolol or any other ingredients in this tablet.
  • If you are suffering from liver disease.
  • If you have/had a history of heart attack or heart disorder like heart failure.
  • If you are on medications for heart failure.
  • If you have a serious breathing problem like asthma.
  • If you are suffering from a disorder of irregular heartbeats (sick sinus syndrome, sino-atrial block).
  • If you are suffering from low blood pressure.
  • If you are experiencing heartbeats slower than regular (bradycardia).
  • If you have a tumour of the adrenal gland (a gland that produces hormones to regulate your body process, blood pressure, immune system and response to various triggers like stress) Pheochromocytoma.
  • If you have poor blood circulation.
  • If you are consuming medicines with ingredients floctafenine (an anti-inflammatory agent) and sultopride (used to treat brain-related disorders).

  • You are diabetic (this medicine is known to mask low blood sugar symptoms like trembling, shaky movements, fast heartbeats).
  • You are suffering from an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), as the medicine may mask the symptoms of an overactive thyroid gland such as a fast heart rate (tachycardia).
  • You have experienced recurrent episodes of chest pain even at rest typically at night (prinzmetal's angina).
  • You experience breathing difficulties or have lung diseases, nebivolol may further increase breathing problems.
  • You have skin allergies (psoriasis) or rashes, as the condition may worsen with the use of this medicine.
  • You wear contact lenses, as nebivolol may make your eyes dry.
  • You are allergic to lactose as the medicine preparation contains lactose.
  • You have or you had any medical history and are taking any medications on a regular basis.
