Medical Description
Naprosyn D 500 tablet is used to provide relief from pain and inflammation associated with various conditions. It contains naproxen and domperidone, a painkiller and anti-vomit medicine, respectively. Naprosyn D 500 is used to provide relief from the pain associated with various types of arthritis, such as spondylitis, rheumatoid, osteoarthritis, gout and menstrual pain while domperidone is used to prevent vomiting or its sensation caused by naproxen.
Naprosyn D 500 tablet acts by blocking the release of the chemical substance responsible for pain and inflammation associated with the vomiting sensation. It should not be taken by children under 16 years of age and by children below 5 years of age who have had rheumatoid arthritis since birth. Napra D 500mg tablet, Naxdom 500 tablet and Macprox DP 500 10 tablets also contain Naproxen and Domperidone. You should always take Naprosyn D 500mg Tablet with meals to avoid stomach upset and as prescribed by your doctor.

- If you are allergic to naproxen, domperidone or any other ingredient of Naprosyn D 500mg Tablet.
- If you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or any other medicine from NSAIDs.
- If you have an active or history of stomach/intestinal ulcers.
- If you have a history of liver or kidney disease.
- If you have a history of heart failure.
- If you are in the last trimester of pregnancy.
- If you are on medication to treat irregular heart rate.
- If you have a Prolactin-releasing pituitary tumour (part of the brain responds to release hormone prolactin).

How Does It Work?
- Naproxen inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin (chemicals substance causing pain and swelling) and reduces pain and inflammation in the joints and muscles.
- Domperidone works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (dopamine) in the brain, which causes a feeling of nausea and vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines.
