Mode of Action of Mupibact 2 %
How Does It Work?
Mupirocin stops bacterial protein synthesis and also kills the bacteria. Therefore bacteria are not able to grow.
Directions for Use of Mupibact 2 %
- Always use this ointment per your doctor's advice.
- The area must be covered with clothing unless your doctor ask you to keep the area open.
- Put the cap tightly back on the tube.
- Clean your hands thoroughly before and after using the ointment.
- If you have been prescribed to use it on the face, keep it away from your nose or eyes.
Interactions of Mupibact 2 %
Interactions with other medicines
- Oxymetazoline may decrease the absorption of mupirocin.
- With combination of mupirocin and phenindione, severity of bleeding may worsen.
- With combination of mupirocin and warfarin severity of bleeding may worsen.
- Mupirocin may decrease the efficacy of estetrol.
Storage and disposal of Mupibact 2 %
- Store at room temperature (25ºC)
- Use within 6 months once opened
- Do not throw away any ointment via household waste or wastewater
- Ask your doctor how to throw away this medicine after use
Dosage of Mupibact 2 %
Overdose
Upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have applied this ointment in excess, wipe out the excess with tissue or cotton.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed applying Mupibact ointment, apply it as soon as possible. Do not over-apply this medicine to compensate for the missed application.
