Montair FX tablet is a medication used to treat allergic rhinitis. This anti-allergic medicine provides relief from a runny nose, stuffy nose, airway blockage, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and other symptoms of allergies. Montair FX tablet contains two active ingredients, montelukast and fexofenadine, which work together to stop the action of different molecules that cause allergy symptoms.
Allergic rhinitis is a common condition that affects an individual's quality of life and, if left untreated, can contribute to asthma, otitis media and sinusitis. Allergic rhinitis is also known as hay fever. It is a condition of inflammation or swelling inside your nose due to an allergen.
Montair FX tablets should be taken in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor. You can take this medicine with or without food. However, it is advised to consume it at the same time every day for optimum benefit. A few other medicines containing similar compositions are Allegra M tablet, Telekast F tablet, Emlukast Fx tablet, Histafree M tablet and Montek Fx tablet.
Do not use this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless recommended by a doctor. Montair FX tablet is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 15 years of age. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any ingredients. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any unusual side effects after taking this medicine.

- You have any blood disorder, abnormal blood count and swelling of blood vessels.
- You have any heart-related disorders, joint disorders or muscle weakness.
- You are suffering from any brain-related problems like aggression, anxiety, depression, abnormal dreams, lack of sleep, irritation, restlessness or suicidal thoughts.
- You have a known allergy to aspirin or other painkillers, or you have acute asthma.
- You have kidney or liver function problems, or you are an elderly patient.
- You are experiencing rapid heartbeats, palpitations and excessive sweating.
Directions for Use
- The dose and duration of the medicine must be followed strictly as directed by the doctor.
- Consume the tablets with water.
- Do not crush, chew or break the tablets.

- Store the tablets below 25°C.
- Keep the medicine away from reach from children and pets.
- Do not use the medicine after the expiry date.
- Do not throw medicines in wastewater or household waste.

- Montair FX tablet is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used to obtain relief from symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
- It should be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor, in the exact dose and duration. This medication can be taken with or without food. However, for maximum benefit, it is best to consume it at the same time every day.
- Montair FX tablet is not intended for use by children or adolescents under the age of 15. Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- Because Montair FX Tablet may cause dizziness and sleepiness, use caution when driving or doing anything else that requires concentration.
- Drinking alcohol while taking Montair FX Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness.
- Stop taking Montair FX Tablet at least three days before an allergy test, as it may interfere with the results.
- If you have liver problems, use Montair FX Tablet with caution because it may worsen your condition. Your doctor may recommend blood tests to monitor your liver enzyme levels.
- It is not suggested that you take more than the specified dose of Montair FX Tablet since it may result in an overdose, which can cause symptoms such as vomiting, thirst, headache, stomach discomfort, exhaustion, dry mouth, sleepiness, dizziness, and fatigue.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Co-administration of phenobarbital, phenytoin or rifampin leads to decreased activity of Montelukast.
- Gemfibrozil increases the exposure of montelukast in the body.
- Co-administration of erythromycin or ketoconazole can increase fexofenadine levels in the body.
- Administration of an antacid containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide gels, 15 minutes before Montair tablets, may cause a reduction in the blood levels of fexofenadine.
