Medical Description
Telekast F tablet is an antihistamine medication. It is used to manage symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It is a condition characterised by a runny & stuffed nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and other allergic symptoms.
Telekast F Tablet is a combination medicine containing montelukast and fexofenadine as active ingredients. This medicine acts by blocking the production of chemicals responsible for allergic symptoms, thereby alleviating the symptoms and providing relief. It is advised to take this medicine, preferably at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness.
Medicines with a combination of montelukast and fexofenadine are Allegra M tablet, Telekast F tablet, Emlukast Fx tablet, Histafree M tablet, and Montek Fx tablet.
It should be taken as directed by the doctor, in the prescribed doses and duration. Before using Telekast F, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, and about your detailed medical history.

Directions for Use
- Telekast F should be taken as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

- Store Telekast F tablets at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
- Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not use expired medicines.
- Discard any unused medicine properly. Do not flush in the toilet or throw it into the drain.

How Does It Work?
- Telekast F tablet works by the combined action of montelukast and fexofenadine.
- Montelukast works by blocking the action of allergic mediator leukotrienes by binding to leukotriene receptors and helps in relieving the symptoms of allergy.
- Fexofenadine works by blocking the action of natural substance histamine which is produced by the body during allergic reactions.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Telekast F tablet may interact with other medicines, discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbal preparations you are taking. Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination schedule.
- Medicines acting on the brain to produce calmness if taken along with Telekast F may reduce the alertness and impairment of performance.
- Concomitant use of antibiotics such as erythromycin or antifungals such as Ketoconazole can increase the levels of this medicine.
- Maintain a minimum gap of 2 hours between the administration of Telekast F and antacid medicines containing aluminium and magnesium.
- Other medicines such as Phenobarbital, Phenytoin, Rifampin and Gemfibrozil should be used cautiously. Inform your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines.
