Medical Description

Mibeta plus tablets is a combination medication to treat migraine headaches. It consists of two active components, propranolol and flunarizine. They work by relaxing the blood vessels and preventing migraine headaches.

Contraindications

  • Allergic to propranolol, flunarizine or any other ingredients of Mibeta plus tablets
  • Cardiac shock (inability of heart to pump enough blood and oxygen to brain and other vital organs)
  • Slow heart rate
  • Bronchial asthma

Driving

Some of the side effects of Mibeta Plus tablets like headache, dizziness and tiredness may impair your ability to drive or operate heavy machineries. Hence, please avoid driving or operating heavy machineries until these symptoms wear off.

Talk to your doctor if

  • You are on blood thinners

Directions for Use

Please take Mibeta plus tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take them without a doctor's prescription. Mibeta Plus tablet must be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Storage and disposal

Store Mibeta plus tablets at room temperature away from light and moisture. Please keep it out of reach from children and do not use the tablets past its date of expiry. Discard the unused medication using safe disposal protocols mentioned on its packaging.

Dosage

Overdose

Please go to the emergency department closest to you, in case of an overdose. In addition, please carry the product packaging along with you to provide the doctor treating you with the necessary information.

Missed a Dose

If you forget to take a dose, please take it as soon as you remember it. In case it is time for your next dose, skip the missed the dose and take the current dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.

How Does It Work?

The component propranolol is a beta blocker type of medication that reduces the heart rate by relaxing the blood vessels. By doing so, it decreases the blood pressure. Flunarizine is a calcium entry and histamine H1 blocker, that makes it effective in preventing headaches caused due to migraine.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

  • Cimetidine, quinidine, ritonavir, or any other inhibitors of Cytochrome P-450 system when taken along with Mibeta Plus tablets may cause increased concentration of propranolol in blood
  • The blood concentration of propranolol may decrease when taken along with liver medications like rifampin, phenytoin or phenobarbital
  • The concentration of propranolol increases when taken along with nisoldipine or nicardipine
