intestines, liver, private parts, etc. It also helps to treat dental infections and is also used to prevent an infection after surgery. Metron Paed Syrup contains metronidazole as its active ingredient. You should complete the entire treatment with this medicine and not stop it mid-way on your own without consulting your doctor.

Uses of Metron Paed 200 MG

Metron Paed Syrup is used in treating infections of the skin, lungs, heart, stomach, liver, intestines, joints, bones, private parts, etc. It is also helpful for treating dental infections.
It is also used to prevent an infection after a surgery or an operation.

Contraindications of Metron Paed 200 MG

If you are allergic to metronidazole or any other ingredients of Metron Paed Syrup.
If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
If you are a breastfeeding mother.

Pregnancy

Can I take Metron Paed Syrup during pregnancy?

Breast Feeding

Can I take Metron Paed Syrup while breastfeeding?

Metronidazole passes into breastmilk. Thus, Metron Paed Syrup should be avoided by lactating mothers. When using this medicine for a longer duration, your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding for 12 to 24 hours after single-dose treatment. You should consult a doctor before using this medicine while breastfeeding.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Metron Paed Syrup?

Metron Paed Syrup may cause drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, hallucinations, fits or temporary visual disturbances like blurred vision. Thus, you should be cautious or avoid driving if you do not feel well or are unable to be alert.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Metron Paed Syrup?

You must not consume alcohol along with Metron Paed Syrup and for 48 hours after treatment with this medicine as it may produce side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headaches, hot flashes and palpitations.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have problems with your liver.
You are on dialysis.
You are suffering from any nervous system disorders.
You experience any blood disorder, anaemia and abnormal blood count.
You do not notice any improvement in your condition after using Metron Paed Syrup.
Do not use Metron Paed Syrup for any other conditions other than that specified by your doctor.

Metronidazole is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent that produces free radicals and damages the cells and DNA of protozoa, killing the infection-causing microorganisms.
