This medication can be used on its own as monotherapy or in combination with other anti-epileptic medicines. Its mechanism of action involves attaching to specific sites, known as SV2A, on the surfaces of nerve cells in the brain. By doing this, Lysiprin 500 tablet works to suppress the abnormal nerve cell activity, thereby stopping the spread of electrical signals that trigger seizures and effectively preventing fits as long as you continue to take it as directed.

Lysiprin 500 tablet can be taken with or without food, but for the best effect, it should be taken at the same time every day to maintain a consistent level of the medicine in your body. Taking Lysiprin 500 tablets with certain medicines, such as methotrexate, can reduce the clearance of methotrexate, potentially leading to hazardous concentrations. Coadministration with a laxative called macrogol may decrease the effectiveness of Lysiprin 500 tablet; therefore, macrogol should be taken one hour before or after taking Lysiprin 500 tablet.
