Lipicard 160 tablet contains fenofibrate which lowers the fats in the body such as cholesterol and triglycerides. This medicine is used along with specific diet, exercise and lifestyle modifications for reducing the fat levels of the body. Side effects such as indigestion, vomiting or gas can be experienced while using this medicine.
Lipicard 160 tablets should be taken at the prescribed dose and period. You can take it with or without food at any time of day but try to take it at the same time every day. This medication is simply one component of a therapy plan that should also include a balanced diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, alcohol moderation, and weight loss. You can eat normally while taking this medication but try to avoid high-fat foods.
Most people with high cholesterol do not have symptoms, but if you stop taking this medication, your condition may worsen. This may cause your cholesterol levels to rise again, increasing your risk of heart disease and stroke. It is critical to have your cholesterol levels examined on a regular basis.

Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use ofLipicard 160 tablet with blood thinners (aspirin, warfarin) may increase the risk of bleeding
- Reversible problems related to kidneys have been reported whenLipicard 160 tablet is given in patients taking medicines for lowering immunity (cyclosporin)
- Use of fenofibrate with other fat lowering medicines(other fibrates and statins) should be done carefully as it increases the risk of muscle damage
- Effects of this medicine may be reduced in patients taking birth control pills (oestrogen-containing oral contraceptives)
- Discuss with your doctor about any other medicine, herbal preparation, and supplements you are taking currently to avoid any possible drug interactions
