Finobrate 160 MG Description
Finobrate 160 is a medication that contains fenofibrate, a fibrate that helps to reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, which are associated with cardiovascular risk factors. It also increases HDL cholesterol and activates the PPARα receptor to increase lipid metabolism. It can be used with other medications like statins and should be accompanied by a low-fat diet and lifestyle changes.
Side effects may include muscle pain, weakness or kidney damage and caution should be taken in patients with certain conditions. It is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women or children under 18. Finate 160 tablet and Tgr 160 tablet also contain fenofibrate as its active ingredient.

Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of Finobrate Tablet with blood thinners (aspirin, warfarin) may increase the risk of bleeding
- Reversible problems related to kidneys have been reported when Finobrate Tablet is given in patients taking medicines for lowering immunity (cyclosporin)
- Use of fenofibrate with other fat lowering medicines(other fibrates and statins) should be done carefully as it increases the risk of muscle damage
- Effects of this medicine may be reduced in patients taking birth control pills (oestrogen-containing oral contraceptives)
