Medical Description
L-HIST Mont Tablet is a commonly prescribed medicine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, itching, and airway blockage. It contains two active ingredients – Montelukast and Levocetirizine – which work together to block the effects of histamine and leukotrienes, natural chemicals in the body responsible for causing allergy-related symptoms. By reducing the activity of these chemicals, L-HIST Mont Tablet helps improve breathing and provides long-lasting relief from allergy discomfort.
This tablet is often recommended for individuals who suffer from seasonal or perennial allergies. It may also provide benefits for patients experiencing nighttime allergy symptoms, as it can be taken at bedtime to improve both comfort and sleep. Some other commonly available medicines with the same combination include Telekast L, Montina L, Odimont Lc, Montair LC and Monticope tablets.
While L-HIST Mont Tablet is effective, like all medicines, it may cause some side effects. Common side effects reported include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth. These effects are generally mild and temporary, resolving on their own without the need for medical intervention. However, if any side effect persists or become bothersome, it is important to consult your doctor promptly.
You should always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food, but it is generally recommended to swallow the tablet with a glass of water at the same time every day. Many doctors advise taking it in the evening or at bedtime, as it may cause mild drowsiness in some patients. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or discontinue the medicine without consulting a doctor.
L-HIST Mont Tablet can provide effective relief from bothersome allergic symptoms when used correctly under the guidance of a healthcare professional. Along with the medicine, avoiding allergy triggers such as dust, pollen, or animal dander can further enhance its effectiveness. Always inform your doctor about your medical history and ongoing medications before starting L-HIST Mont Tablet to ensure safe and optimal treatment.
