- Treatment of Schizophrenia
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to Amisulpride or any other component of Joypride Tablet, don't take it.
- If you have pheochromocytoma. It can cause a hypertensive crisis (a severe increase in blood pressure with a high risk of other complications that may be life-threatening). Pheochromocytoma is an uncommon adrenal gland tumour (a small gland located on top of your kidney).
- If you have prolactinoma or breast cancer. It could make your situation worse. The prolactin-dependent tumour arises due to an excess of prolactin hormone in the body, known as a prolactin-dependent tumour. Breast cancer is more likely in women with greater prolactin levels in their blood.
- If you have Parkinson's disease, you should use Joypride Tablets with caution because it may exacerbate your condition.

- You develop cardiac problems. While taking this prescription, your doctor may recommend tests to monitor the function of your heart. Joypride Tablet Tablet may induce a heart rhythm problem known as QT prolongation, as well as an increased risk of blood clot development. As a result, if
- Your blood sugar levels have risen. Use Joypride Tablet with caution since it may affect your blood sugar levels. During treatment with this medicine, keep track of your blood sugar levels on a frequent basis.
- You have low potassium levels, use Joypride Tablet with caution. Only once the potassium deficiency has been rectified may your doctor begin treatment with this prescription.
- You experience seizures; you should use Joypride Tablet with caution since it may cause a seizure and worsen your condition.
- You have mood swings or have thoughts of self-harm, tell your doctor right away so that you can get help. Joypride Tablet can cause mood swings, aggressive behaviour, and suicidal ideation, especially in the early stages of treatment.
- You detect any symptoms such as a skin rash, itching/swelling (particularly of the face/tongue/throat), extreme dizziness, difficulty breathing, etc.
- Note:
- Because of the increased risk of side effects, Joypride Tablet should be used with great caution in the elderly.
- Because the safety and efficacy of Joypride Tablet have not been clinically verified, it is not advised for use in children under the age of 18.
- Joypride Tablets can cause leukopenia; they should be used with caution. Leukopenia is a disorder characterised by a low white blood cell count, frequent infections, fever with chills, sore throat, mouth ulcers, and other symptoms.
Directions for Use
- The dosage and duration of the Joypride tablet is prescribed by your doctor.
- You can take Joypride tablets with or without food. However, it is recommended to take it after meals to prevent nausea.
- Swallow the entire tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush, bite or break.
- It is recommended that you take it at the same time each day to ensure that your body receives a consistent dose of medicine.
- Do not stop taking Joypride Tablets without first visiting your doctor, as stopping suddenly can cause withdrawal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and difficulties sleeping. Stopping this prescription too soon may make your illness worse.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Levodopa is used to treat Parkinson's disease. Taking Joypride Tablet and Levodopa together is not recommended since their effects are opposed. As a result, the effectiveness of both medications will be reduced, and there are chances of unwanted side effects.
- Aripiprazole (used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder), when used with Amisulpride, can depress the central nervous system, affecting one's capacity to perform skilled jobs.
- Lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam (used to treat anxiety disorders), when used with Amisulpride, can depress the central nervous system, affecting one's capacity to execute skilled jobs.
- Using Amisulpride with Citalopram, duloxetine, fluoxetine, trazodone, sertraline (used to treat depression) lengthens the QT interval is lengthened (irregular heart rhythm).
- Gabapentin, clonazepam, lamotrigine, pregabalin (used to treat fits)- Both Amisulpride and these medication can depress the central nervous system, affecting one's capacity to execute skilled jobs.
- Oxycodone and tramadol (used to relieve pain) interact with Amisulpride and cause CNS depressant effects.
Interactions with food items
- Joypride Tablet isn't known to cause any interaction with any food, but it has been shown to interact with alcohol and cause drowsiness.
