• Treatment of certain types of chronic hepatitis C and chronic hepatitis B in adult patients.
• Treatment of hairy cell leukemia, malignant melanoma, and follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
• Treatment of AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma in appropriate patients, according to the prescribing information.

• Known hypersensitivity or severe allergic reaction to interferon alfa-2b or any of its ingredients.
• Severe psychiatric disorders or a history of severe psychiatric illness, where contraindicated by the prescribing information.
• Severe pre-existing heart disease or other serious conditions where interferon therapy is contraindicated.
• Autoimmune hepatitis or certain severe autoimmune disorders.
• Pregnancy: Use depends on the specific indication and treatment regimen. If used with ribavirin, pregnancy is contraindicated because ribavirin can cause serious fetal harm.

Other General Warnings

• You experience severe depression, mood swings, confusion, or thoughts of self-harm, as psychiatric monitoring is critical.
• You develop unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, or a persistent cough.
• You notice visual disturbances, eye pain, or changes in your eyesight.
• You experience signs of a severe infection, unusual bruising, or persistent bleeding.

• Administer Intron A injection subcutaneously or intramuscularly, exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• If self-injecting at home, follow the injection technique and site-rotation instructions provided by your healthcare professional.
• Follow the prescribed dose and schedule carefully.
• Attend all scheduled medical check-ups and blood tests

• Store Intron A injection according to the specific product's storage instructions, generally in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C when required, in its original packaging to protect it from light. Do not freeze unless the specific product information states otherwise
• If travelling, check the specific product guidelines for short-term room-temperature storage, if permitted.
• Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
• Dispose of used needles, syringes, and pens safely in a puncture-resistant sharps container as directed by your pharmacist or clinic.

• Taking your injection at bedtime, or taking the prescribed paracetamol (acetaminophen) before your injection, can help reduce flu-like symptoms and fever.
• Keep all scheduled blood tests and medical appointments to monitor your liver health, blood counts, and thyroid function regularly.
• Stay well-hydrated and eat small, frequent meals if you experience nausea or loss of appetite during therapy.
• Report any sudden mood changes, feelings of severe sadness, or thoughts of self-harm to your doctor or family immediately.
• Rotate your injection sites regularly to minimize local skin irritation and discomfort.

Interactions with other medicines

• Inform your doctor about all prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and herbal supplements you are taking, especially theophylline, methadone, or zidovudine, as interferon can affect their levels.
