Medical Description

Hungry Kid Syrup is given to treat allergic conditions. It is also used to treat loss of appetite (need for food). It relieves red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, and runny nose caused by allergies, irritants in the air, and hay fever. It can also be used to relieve the itching of allergic skin conditions and to treat hives, including hives caused by exposure to cold temperatures and by rubbing the skin. It can also be used to instigate hunger. Hungry Kid Syrup has Cyproheptadine as an active ingredient which is an antihistamine and is also sometimes used to treat allergic reactions in people who have received blood products or transfusion as part of their medical treatment and to treat life-threatening allergic reactions after the symptoms have been brought under control with other medications or treatments. Cyproheptadine will help relieve the symptoms but will not treat the cause of symptoms or cause speedy recovery. Hungry Kid syrup works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers like histamine, a substance released by the body as a defence mechanism during inflammation or an allergy. The dosage and duration of Hungry Kid Syrup vary among individuals depending on the condition and severity it is being used for. You should not take more than the prescribed doses by your doctor. This medicine should be given in accurate doses to children. The use of this medicine without proper prescription by a doctor can cause serious health issues.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Hungry Kid Syrup is an antihistamine that blocks the effect of a substance known as histamine, which is a hormone (chemical messenger). Histamine is naturally released when your body detects something harmful, i.e., an infection. It causes the blood vessels to expand and skin to swell, which acts as a defence mechanism against the foreign particle and helps protect the body. But in people who already suffer from allergies, the body mistakes something as harmless as pollen, animal hair or house dust for a threat and produces histamine. The histamine causes an allergic reaction with unpleasant symptoms including itchy, watery eyes, a running or blocked nose, sneezing, and skin rashes. Antihistamines may prevent allergic reactions if you take them in time before you come into contact with the allergens you are allergic to, or they can also aid by reducing the severity of symptoms if you take them immediately afterwards. Histamine can also act as a neurotransmitter in our brains, playing a key role in wakefulness and preventing sleep, which is why taking antihistamines can induce sleep. Histamine also decreases our hunger by in part affecting the appetite control centre in our brains, and it makes sense an antihistamine would have the opposite effect. Histamines also have the effect of making us sleepier, therefore, decreasing the amount of energy we use and leading to fewer calories burned throughout the day and thus inducing hunger
