Hifenac D Tablet Description

Hifenac D tablet is used to treat pain associated with arthritis, spondylitis and post-surgery along with swelling. It contains a combination of three medicines namely aceclofenac, paracetamol and se

rratiopeptidase as its active ingredients. This medicine has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It works by inhibiting the release of the chemical substances responsible for causing pain. Hifenac D tablets should not be used by pregnant women during their third trimester and breastfeeding women. It is advised to take this medicine as advised by your doctor to gain optimal benefits. You should take the Hifenac D with or after meals to avoid stomach upset.

Uses of Hifenac D Tablet

Hifenac D tablet is used to provide relief from the pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis and post surgeries.

Contraindications of Hifenac D Tablet

  • If you have an allergy to paracetamol, aceclofenac, serratiopeptidase or any of the ingredients of the Hifenac D tablet.
  • If you had an allergic reaction such as asthma, skin rashes or runny nose after taking medicines like ibuprofen and aspirin.
  • If you have ever experienced severe allergic reactions.
  • If you have a history of frequent stomach ulcers or bleeding.
  • If you are suffering from any heart diseases like heart failure and high blood pressure.
  • If you have problems with kidney and liver function.
  • If you are pregnant (especially after the 3rd month of pregnancy).

Can I take the Hifenac D tablet during pregnancy?
It is unsafe to take Hifenac D tablets during pregnancy as it can cause defects in the unborn baby's heart, increase the risk of bleeding or even delay labour. Thus, this medicine should not be taken by pregnant women.

Breast Feeding

Can I take the Hifenac D tablet while breastfeeding?
It is not advised to take the Hifenac D tablet while breastfeeding as there is limited safety data available. Inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother.


Can I drive if I have consumed the Hifenac D tablet?
It is advised not to drive or use machines when you have taken Hifenac D tablet as it may cause dizziness.


Can I consume alcohol with the Hifenac D tablet?
It is advisable to avoid the consumption of alcohol during the treatment with Hifenac D tablet as it may worsen your liver problems and other side effects.

Mode of Action of Hifenac D Tablet

How Does It Work?

  • Aceclofenac and paracetamol act by interfering with the production of a chemical substance called prostaglandin which is responsible for swelling and pain.
  • Serratiopeptidase acts by repairing the tissues. Thus, decreasing the swelling around the infected area.

Directions for Use of Hifenac D Tablet

Hifenac D tablet should be consumed as a whole with a sufficient amount of water and can be taken after food. Take it as recommended by your doctor to gain optimal benefits.
