Uses of Headset Tablet

Headset tablet is used in the treatment of a headache associated with migraine with or without warning signs.

Contraindications of Headset Tablet

  • If you are allergic to sumatriptan, naproxen or any other ingredients of Headset tablet.
  • If you have decreased blood supply to the heart, brain or other parts of the body.
  • If you have severe liver disease.
  • If you have high blood pressure which is not under control.
  • If you have a migraine headache associated with weakness on one side of the body.
  • If you have migraine headache pain present over the backside of the head.

Side effects of Headset Tablet

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Sleepiness
  • Chest pain
  • Indigestion
  • A dry mouth
  • Abnormal sensation over the skin

Precautions and Warnings of Headset Tablet



Can I take Headset tablet during pregnancy?
A Headset tablet should not be taken during pregnancy unless your doctor considers it essential after assessing the benefits over risks. If you are pregnant or think you may be or are planning for a baby, you should consult your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Headset tablet while breastfeeding?
Headset tablets should be avoided while breastfeeding as both its components are known to pass into the breastmilk. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.


Can I drive if I have consumed Headset tablet?
Headset tablet can cause dizziness, sleepiness, spinning sensation. Avoid driving if you experience any of these side effects.


Can I consume alcohol with Headset tablet?
Drinking alcohol while on this medicine causes increased chances of bleeding from the stomach, sleepiness, dizziness, etc. or can make a migraine headache worse or can cause another type of headache, therefore alcohol drinking should be avoided while taking this medicine.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
  • You have high blood pressure, diabetes, high blood cholesterol level, dehydration, heart disease or a family history of heart disease.
  • You are obese, a smoker.
  • You are a female whose menstruation is stopped normally or due to the removal of the uterus.
  • You are a male over 40 years of age.
  • You have chest pain, jaw or neck tightness, giddiness, difficulty in breathing, slurring of speech, headache, abdominal pain, blood in stool, vision problem after taking this medicine.
  • You have swelling all over your body after taking this medicine.
  • You have asthma, kidney disease or liver disease.
  • You have nausea, tiredness, skin rash, itching or fever after taking the Headset tablet.
  • You have a history of epilepsy, a brain disorder characterised by recurrent seizures.
  • You have indigestion, stomach pain, blood in vomit or stool after taking this medicine.
  • Do not use the Headset tablet for any other condition than that prescribed by the doctor or more than the prescribed duration.

How Does It Work?

  • Sumatriptan works by narrowing some blood vessels in the brain which helps in relief of migraine headache.
  • Naproxen works by reducing pain and swelling by decreasing the synthesis of a natural substance called prostaglandin, which is responsible for swelling and pain.
