Glimp 2mg Strip Of 10 Tablets
Description
Glimp 2 tablet helps manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially when diet and exercise alone haven't been sufficient. The active component in this medicine is glimepiride, which belongs to a class of anti-diabetic medicines known as sulfonylureas. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic health condition where your body either doesn't produce enough insulin or your cells become resistant to the insulin it does produce. Since insulin is the hormone responsible for moving sugar from your bloodstream into your cells for energy, this impaired process leads to elevated blood sugar levels, which can result in various serious health complications over time.
Glimp 2 tablet works by targeting your pancreas and stimulating it to produce and release a greater amount of insulin into your body. This increased level of insulin then facilitates the proper utilization of sugar, effectively lowering the elevated glucose concentration in your blood. It is essential to understand that this medication is part of a comprehensive treatment plan and should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, including the dose and duration. You should swallow the tablet whole with water and take it with or after a meal, ideally at a fixed time each day to maximize its benefits and help reduce potential side effects.
While Glimp 2 tablet is generally well-tolerated, it is crucial to be aware of possible side effects. Common ones include gastrointestinal issues like nausea, as well as dizziness, headache, and weight gain. A more significant concern is the risk of hypoglycaemia, or low blood sugar, which can manifest as extreme hunger, headache, shakiness, confusion, and reduced alertness. If you experience these symptoms, you should immediately consume a simple sugar, such as juice or a chocolate bar. Never stop taking this medicine on your own, even if side effects occur or you feel better; always consult your doctor first.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Your pancreas produces a hormone called insulin. Insulin moves sugar (glucose) from the blood into the cells. The cells then use it as fuel for energy. In type 2 diabetes, your body doesn’t make enough insulin or doesn’t utilize insulin properly, so the sugar is not able to enter the cells and stays in your bloodstream....
- Glimepiride increases the amount of insulin released from your pancreas. This insulin then lowers your blood sugar levels.
