Q: Can I stop taking this medication if glucose levels are reduced?

A: While diabetes is a chronic disease and cannot be reversed, it is possible to go off medications by controlling blood glucose levels with the help of diet and exercise. However, you should not take this decision by yourself and always ask your doctor about the possibility of managing diabetes only through diet and exercise.

A: No, this medicine is not habit-forming. It is ,however, a prescription medicine so it must be used only if prescribed by a doctor. Do not decide to take it by yourself.

Q: What can be done if blood glucose levels drop too low?

A: This may happen if you are taking other diabetes medications. If this happens, you should immediately ingest a glucose-rich drink or food item to restore your glucose levels. However, you should notify your doctor if this occurs so that the cause may be established and further incidents can be avoided.
