Medical Description
Gatiaid F eye drop is a combination medicine used for the treatment of infection and inflammation of the eye. It contains two active ingredients namely gatifloxacin and flurbiprofen.
Gatifloxacin kills bacteria and reduces the infection. Flurbiprofen acts by decreasing inflammation. Together these molecules help to relieve infection and inflammation of the eye.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine, bleed easily, taking medicine that increases the time of your blood clotting, or have any other medical condition. If you will be having surgery. If you are pregnant, or breastfeeding.

- If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or to other quinolones.
- If you have a viral eye infection.
- If you have a tendency to bleed easily.
- If you are taking medicine that increases the time needed for your blood to clot.
- If you will be having surgery.
- If you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.

- You bleed easily.
- You take medicine that increases the time needed for your blood to clot.
- You will be undergoing surgery.

- Your doctor recommends using this medicine with another eye medicine, leave at least 5 minutes between putting this eye drop and the other medicine.
Directions for Use
- Use this medicine as instructed by your doctor
- Follow directions carefully & do not miss doses
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying
- Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze
- Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper and it must be kept clean
- Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue
- Use the exact number of drops recommended

- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Store at or below 25°C. Do not freeze.
- Store unused vials in the original pack.
- Do not use this medicine after its expiry date.
- Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
Quick Tips
- Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye. Flurbiprofen is a painkiller used to reduce inflammation. It should not be used for treating any other condition unless specified by the doctor.
- Follow the directions carefully, and wash your hands thoroughly before and after the application. For 2-3 minutes, close your eyes and do not blink.
- This medicine is meant for application in the eye. It should not be ingested. On accidental ingestion, contact your doctor or visit the nearest hospital.
- Before starting Gatiaid F eye drops, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding. Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.

Dosage
Overdose
- If you have placed too many drops in your eyes, wash your eyes with clean water.
- Apply your next dose at the normal time.
- Upon accidental ingestion contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital
Missed a Dose
- If you forget a dose apply it as soon as you remember.
- Then apply your next dose as usual and continue with your normal routine.
- Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
