Emetil 50 MG Description

Emetil Tablet is primarily used to treat schizophrenia, mania in bipolar disorder and other psychotic disorders like paranoia (abnormal and false beliefs). Schizophrenia is a type of psychotic disord

er characterised by episodes of hallucinations, delusions, disordered thinking and behaviour. Emetil Tablet is also used for managing violent behaviour, agitation, nervousness, anxiety, and other behaviour problems. Emetil Tablet contains chlorpromazine which belongs to the class of antipsychotic medications. It blocks certain receptors in the nervous system, which improves behaviour and mood. Emetil tablets should be taken in dosage and duration as advised by your doctor. It is advised to complete the course of treatment.

If you’re allergic to any of the ingredients of Emetil Tablet.
If you suffer from dementia (memory loss).
If the patient is in a coma state.
If you have acute angle glaucoma, which increases the fluid pressure in the eyes.
If you have severe central nervous system depression (reduces the functionality of breathing).
If you have liver or kidney disease.
If you have respiratory issues.
If you’re pregnant and a lactating mother.
If you have prostate or bladder problems.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Emetil Tablet?

Emetil Tablets may cause side effects that could affect your ability to drive. The tablet may decrease alertness, vision, confusion, nausea and can cause dizziness, lethargy, lightheadedness. Do not drive if you are experiencing these side effects after taking this medicine.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Emetil Tablet?

Alcohol consumption with Emetil Tablet is not advised. It increases the severity of side effects like decreased vision, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, liver injury, etc. It also worsens the condition of the disease for which you are taking this tablet.

Directions for Use of Emetil 50 MG

Take the Emetil Tablet as prescribed by the doctor.
Take this medicine with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
Take this medicine on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
Swallow the whole tablet orally with a glass of water. Do not break/crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
Do not take this tablet with other medications as there is a chance of medicine interaction.
Don’t stop taking this medication suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
Don’t exceed the dosage, even if you cannot feel its effects.
