Uses
- As per USFDA and MHRA-UK, Emetil Tablet is used for
- Schizophrenia
- Symptoms associated with psychotic disorders
- Mania in bipolar disorder
- Nausea and vomiting before surgery
- Severe behaviour problems such as explosive, aggressive behaviour.
- Hyperactivity in children from 1 to 12
- Acute intermittent porphyria
- Uncontrollable hiccups
Contraindications
- If you’re allergic to any of the ingredients of Emetil Tablet.
- If you suffer from dementia (memory loss).
- If the patient is in a coma state.
- If you have acute angle glaucoma, which increases the fluid pressure in the eyes.
- If you have severe central nervous system depression (reduces the functionality of breathing).
- If you have liver or kidney disease.
- If you have respiratory issues.
- If you’re pregnant and a lactating mother.
- If you have prostate or bladder problems.

- You have any allergic reactions after taking Emetil Tablet.

- You experience any severe side effects persistently.
- Your symptoms are not improving, or there is worsening of your condition.
- You have hypertension or high blood pressure.
- You have seizures or epilepsy
- You are over 65 years old.
- You’ve a history of mild or severe liver and kidney diseases.
- You are pregnant or planning a pregnancy during the course of treatment.
- You are using any ayurvedic or herbal medicines, vitamins, and other health supplements.
Directions for Use
- Take the Emetil Tablet as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take this medicine with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take this medicine on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
- Swallow the whole tablet orally with a glass of water. Do not break/crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
- Do not take this tablet with other medications as there is a chance of medicine interaction.
- Don’t stop taking this medication suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
- Don’t exceed the dosage, even if you cannot feel its effects.

Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor what medications, herbal products, vitamins and nutritional supplements, you’re taking or plan to take as there is a chance of medicine Interaction. Many medicines can interact with Emetil Tablet, making it less effective or increasing side effects. This includes-
- Interaction with tricyclic antidepressants, antipsychotics (pimozide, haloperidol), and antihistamines can lead to serious side effects.
- Interaction with phenytoin and propranolol can increase the amount of both medicines in the body.
- Interaction with opioid or narcotic pain relievers such as morphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, hydrocodone, tramadol, codeine can increase the side effects like drowsiness.
- NSAIDs, Aspirin, and other medications which affect coagulation may interact and can increase the risk of bleeding.
Interactions with food items
- You can continue with the regular diet as food doesn’t influence the effect of the Emetil Tablet.
