Description
Egolix tablet is a medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain associated with endometriosis. It works by lowering the hormone levels that cause tissue to grow in the uterus, which helps reduce pain and discomfort.
Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day. It can be taken with or without food. This medicine is not meant for use in children. Do not take Egolix tablet if you are pregnant, have osteoporosis, or have severe liver disease.
Common side effects of this medicine are night sweats, headaches, nausea, trouble sleeping, missed periods, anxiety, joint pain, depression, and mood swings.

- If you are taking medicines such as cyclosporine, gemfibrozil, some statins, antibiotics, and antiretroviral drugs. Ask your doctor if you are not sure if you are taking one of these medicines.

- You are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if this medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you take Egolix tablet.
- Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
Directions for Use
- Take Egolix tablet exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take it.
- Your healthcare provider will give you a pregnancy test before you start taking this medicine or will have you start taking it within 7 days after you start your period.
- Take this medicine at the same time each day, with or without food.
- Take this medicine as a whole; do not crush or chew it.
Storage and disposal
- Store it below 25°C in a cool and dry place.
- Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Interactions with other medicines
- It is advised to monitor clinical levels of digoxin when used alongside Egolix tablet.
- The combined use of Egolix tablet and rifampin is discouraged.
- If midazolam is being taken with this medicine, your doctor may adjust the dosage according to the patient’s response.
- Notify your doctor if you are taking rosuvastatin.
