Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Elagolix works by decreasing the amount of certain hormones in the body that cause endometriosis. It stops the signals that trigger the production of luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This leads to lower levels of oestrogen and progesterone, which can ease symptoms such as menstrual cramps and pelvic pain.
