Medical Description
Crocin Advance 500 tablet is used to relieve pain and reduce fever. Its active ingredient is paracetamol. It is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer), used for mild to moderate pain, including headaches, migraines, toothaches, menstrual pain, lower back pain, and muscle aches. The medicine works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemical messengers responsible for fever, swelling, and pain. It also acts on the part of the brain that controls body temperature, helping to lower fever.
You should take the Crocin Advance 500 tablet whole with a glass of water, and it may be taken with food or milk to help minimize the risk of stomach upset. The effect of the tablet generally begins to show within 30-60 minutes after consumption. It is crucial not to exceed the recommended dose, which is generally no more than 4 tablets in 24 hours for an adult with healthy liver and kidneys, and you should maintain a minimum gap of 6 hours between two consecutive doses.
While generally safe when used correctly, there is a risk of liver and kidney damage if you use paracetamol too frequently or for prolonged periods, and it is not recommended in children below 12 years of age. You must inform your doctor about any pre-existing liver or kidney conditions, or if you are taking any other medicines containing paracetamol, as this can increase the risk of side effects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, Crocin Advance 500 tablets can be used if your doctor recommends them, typically for a short duration and at low doses.
If your pain or fever persists after taking the medicine for 3 consecutive days, you should stop taking it and consult your doctor. Taking too much of this medicine can lead to severe liver damage, with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and stomach ache. In the event of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
Dolo 500mg tablet, Paracip 500mg tablet, Calpol 500mg tablet, Pyrigesic 500mg tablet and Panadol tablet are a few more medicines that also include paracetamol as their main component.,
