Combihale G Strip Of 10 Inhalation Capsules
Description
Combihale G inhalation capsule is a combination medicine used for long-term maintenance treatment in adults with moderate to severe Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps open the airways, making breathing easier, and reduces symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. The medication also helps prevent exacerbations of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), particularly when other inhalers are insufficient.
Budesonide is a corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation, swelling, and mucus, thereby improving airflow and decreasing COPD exacerbations. Glycopyrronium, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), relaxes airway smooth muscle and maintains airway patency, thereby improving breathing and lung function. Formoterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA), relaxes airway smooth muscle, improves airflow, reduces wheezing and shortness of breath, and facilitates daily activities.
Combihale G inhalation capsule should be used exactly as prescribed, with proper inhaler technique and regular monitoring. It is not intended for the sudden relief of breathlessness, and patients should follow medical advice regarding other medications, pregnancy, and coexisting conditions to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Budesonide: A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the airways, helping to decrease swelling and mucus production, which makes breathing easier and helps prevent COPD flare-ups.
- Glycopyrronium: A long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) that relaxes the airway muscles by blocking certain receptors, helping to keep the airways open for easier breathing.
- Formoterol Fumarate: A long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA) that relaxes the muscles around the airways, improving airflow and reducing symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- CYP3A4 primarily metabolizes Budesonide; therefore, strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, HIV protease inhibitors, and cobicistat-containing products can increase the risk of adverse effects. Short-term use (1–2 weeks) is usually of limited concern....
- High-dose budesonide with itraconazole may increase blood budesonide levels by up to fourfold.
- The kidneys primarily eliminate glycopyrronium; therefore, drugs that affect renal excretion, such as cimetidine, can slightly increase its plasma concentrations.
- Using Combihale G inhalation capsule with other anticholinergic or long-acting β2-agonist medications is not recommended, as it may increase adverse effects.
- Using other beta-adrenergic medicines alongside formoterol may have additive effects, so caution is needed.
- Medicines that lower potassium (like xanthine derivatives, steroids, and certain diuretics) may increase the risk of low potassium and heart rhythm problems.
- Beta-blockers, including eye drops, can reduce the effect of formoterol. Cardio-selective beta-blockers are preferred if needed.
- Medicines like quinidine, disopyramide, procainamide, certain antihistamines, MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, and phenothiazines can prolong the QT interval and increase the risk of heart rhythm problems....
- L-DOPA, L-thyroxine, oxytocin, and alcohol can affect how the heart responds to beta2-agonists like formoterol.
- Using monoamine oxidase inhibitors or similar medicines may cause high blood pressure reactions.
- There is an increased risk of heart rhythm issues if anesthesia with halogenated hydrocarbons is used while taking this inhaler.
Interactions with food items
- There are no known major food interactions, but taking it with a meal may help reduce throat irritation.
- Avoid consuming very large amounts of alcohol while using this inhalation capsule, as it may worsen dizziness or lightheadedness.
