Medical Description

Clonil Tablet contains Clomipramine, which is a tricyclic antidepressant. It acts by reducing the reuptake of certain neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and serotonin in the central nervous system, increasing these neurotransmitters' effects. Serotonin and norepinephrine are responsible for regulating our behaviour, emotions and mood. It is used in the therapy of OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), depression, cataplexy syndrome (sudden, temporary loss of voluntary muscle tone triggered by strong emotions such as laughter), insomnia (loss of sleep), neuropathic pain, chronic pain, panic disorder, premature ejaculation, paediatric nocturnal enuresis, and trichotillomania (hair-pulling behaviour). It is better to take Clonil Tablet before bedtime because it can make you feel sleepy. It can be taken with or without food, but you should take it at a fixed time each day for better efficacy.
