Description

Cilacar T Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains two active ingredients, cilnidipine and telmisartan, which work together to help control blood pressure. High blood pressure often does not cause symptoms but can increase the risk of serious problems like heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease if not treated. This medicine helps reduce that risk by keeping your blood pressure under control.

This tablet works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels. When the blood vessels are relaxed, the heart can pump blood more easily, and the pressure inside the vessels decreases. Telmisartan blocks certain natural substances that tighten blood vessels, while cilnidipine directly relaxes the vessel walls. Together, they improve blood flow and reduce the workload on the heart.

You should take Cilacar T Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time each day for best results. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it regularly is important to keep your blood pressure stable. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, even if you feel well, because your blood pressure may rise again and increase your health risks.

Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, or have liver, kidney, or heart problems. Some people may experience side effects like dizziness, headache, or tiredness, especially in the beginning. These are usually mild, but if they persist or bother you, consult your doctor. Regular check-ups and blood pressure monitoring will help ensure the medicine is working safely and effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

^

Q: What precautions should I take while on Cilacar T Tablet?

  • Avoid alcohol, as it may lower your blood pressure further and worsen the side effects.
  • Avoid getting up from sitting or sleeping position too fast, as there are chances that you may lose balance and fall.
  • Do not consume any salt substitutes or potassium supplements unless it is advised by your doctor.

Q: Can Cilacar T be stopped if I feel improvement in symptoms?

A: No, you should not stop the treatment with Cilacar T in midway. You must complete the full course of treatment prescribed by the doctor and have regular follow-ups with the doctor.

Q: Is Cilacar T a blood thinner?

A: No, Cilacar T is not a blood thinner medicine. It is an antihypertensive medicine used to lower raised blood pressure.

Q: Can Cilacar T Tablet make me feel dizzy?

A: Yes, Cilacar T Tablet can make you feel dizzy. You may experience these symptoms as a result of low blood pressure which may occur when you suddenly rise up from a lying or sitting position (orthodynamic hypotension). To lower the incidence of dizziness, try to rise up slowly from a sitting or sleeping position. It is advised to avoid driving or operating machines while on this medicine.

Q: What is the difference between Cilacar-T, Cilacar 10, and Metolar?

A: Cilacar-T is a combination medicine containing cilnidipine with telmisartan, which lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and blocking hormone-related vessel tightening. Cilacar 10 contains only cilnidipine and is typically used when single-drug therapy is sufficient. In contrast, Metolar contains metoprolol, a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate, thereby reducing blood pressure and cardiac workload. The choice depends on the need for blood pressure control and other cardiac conditions; it should be taken only as prescribed by a physician.

Q: Is Cilacar-T used for cholesterol management, and what role does it play alongside blood pressure control?

A: Cilacar-T is not a cholesterol-lowering medication; it is used to control high blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and reducing cardiac strain. Keeping blood pressure under control indirectly helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, but cholesterol levels usually need separate treatment if they are high. Always follow your doctor’s advice for complete heart health management.
