Medical Description

Cataspa tablet is a combination of medicine containing diclofenac and dicycloverine. It is used for the treatment of abdominal pain associated with stomach or bowel cramps in certain conditions of stomach or bowel. Diclofenac works by decreasing swelling and pain by inhibiting the synthesis of a natural substance called prostaglandin. Prostaglandin is a natural substance found in the body that can cause swelling or pain. Dicyclomine works by relaxing muscles of the stomach and bowel and decreasing the natural movement of the bowel. Headache, dizziness, spinning sensation of head, nausea or vomiting, loose motion are some of the side effects of using this medicine. If side effects do not go away on their own or your condition doesn't improve over time then inform your doctor.

It is used for the treatment of abdominal pain associated with stomach or bowel cramps in certain conditions of stomach or bowel.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to diclofenac, dicycloverine or any other ingredients of this medicine. If you presently have a stomach or bowel ulcer which either bleeds or perforate. If you had stomach or bowel bleeding or perforation due to intake of medicines from the NSAID group. If you are pregnant and completed 6 months of pregnancy. If you have severe liver disease. If you have severe kidney disease. If you have heart disease, narrowing or blockage of the peripheral blood vessel or disease of a blood vessel supplying the brain. If you have breathing difficulty, swelling of lips, tongue, face etc, itching after taking any medicine from the NSAID group.
