Medical Description
Cadpril 2.5mg Tab is an anti-hypertensive medicine belonging to the group of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, which is used for lowering blood pressure.
Uses of Cadpril 2.5mg Tab
- High blood pressure or hypertension
- Conditions of myocardial infarction
- Kidney diseases due to diabetes
- Chronic congestive heart failure, a condition where the heart muscles lose their power
Contraindications of Cadpril 2.5mg Tab
- Individuals allergic to angiotensin inhibitors are advised against the medicine
- People who have had angioedema are not recommended to take the medicine

How Does It Work?
Angiotensin is a substance found in the body that contracts the blood vessels. Ramipril, the primary ingredient in the composition of Cadpril 2.5mg Tab inhibits the function of angiotensin, causing the blood vessels to expand to their usual stretch for a smooth flow of blood and decreased pressure on the heart muscles.

Interactions with other medicines
- Taking the medicine with other angiotensin receptor blockers can result in further lowering of the blood pressure to a dangerous level
- It is advised to not couple blood thinners, such as warfarin, along with this medicine, as both can contribute to the lowering of the blood pressure and result in hypotension
- Pregabalin and azathioprine are also not recommended to be taken with this medicine
Interactions with food items
No complications are found with any food products. Avoid a diet with high potassium or sodium.

Individuals who have a high amount of potassium in their blood are advised to make the condition known at the time of consultation.
