Terizidone is a derivative of Cycloserine drug, which stops bacterial growth (bacteriostatic) — used in the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (TB).
Uses
This medicine is used for the treatment, control, prevention and improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms caused by tuberculosis.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
This acts by inhibiting cell wall synthesis by competitively inhibiting chemicals for it, thereby impairing bacterial cell wall synthesis. Devoid of an adequately formed cell wall, the bacteria get killed.

It has interactions with numerous medicine like Isoniazid, Ethionamide, Phenytoin, caffeine. Do not take this medicine without a physician's advice.
Interactions with food items
This medicine has food interactions with a specific type of cheese, fish and alcohol. It is best absorbed on an empty stomach. Food reduces absorption. It reduces the level of Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) in the body. Pyridoxine supplementation is required while on this treatment.
