Molecule Description

Raloxifene is used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis (a condition in which bones become weak and brittle).

Uses

To treat and prevent osteoporosis and breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Contraindications

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Raloxifene acts like estrogen and decreases bone loss and thinning of bones in women after menopause, thereby preventing the bones from the risk of fracture. It reduces the risk of invasive breast cancer and uterine cancer by blocking estrogen in breast and uterine tissues.

Cholestyramine (lipid-lowering medicine)
Anticoagulants/ blood thinners (Warfarin) because it may decrease the effectiveness of Raloxifene
