Molecule Description
Brinzolamide belongs to a group of medicines known as Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors.
Uses
It is used to treat high pressure in the eye (open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension).
Contraindications
When should one not use Brinzolamide
- If you are allergic to this medicine
- If you ever have kidney or liver disease
- If you are suffering from urinary problems and red blood cell related disorders (porphyria)
- If you have too much acidity in your blood (a condition called hyperchloremic acidosis)

This medicine can be stored in average room temperature in a closed container. Keep out of the reach of children.

How Does It Work?
This medicine controls carbonic anhydrase which is a chemical found in many parts of the body including the eye. It inhibits excess liquid formation in the eye and reduces elevated eye pressure.

Brinzolamide interacts with Aspirin or other medicines related to Salicylates.

There have not been any specific reports for interactions with food.
Dosage
Overdose
An overdose of Brinzolamide eye drops do not produce any life threatening symptoms. Although, you may face vision difficulties, inform your doctor immediately if you think you have used too much of this medicine.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.
