Medical Description
Zuberi tablet is an anticancer medicine used in the management of chronic lymphatic (lymphocytic) leukemia (CLL), malignant lymphomas, including lymphosarcoma, giant follicular lymphoma, and Hodgkin's disease. It contains chlorambucil, which is an alkylating agent.
The most important safety concern with Zuberi tablet is that it can suppress bone marrow function. It may also increase the risk of secondary malignancies and may affect fertility in both men and women.
Zuberi tablet is usually taken by mouth at a dose recommended by your doctor based on your condition and body weight. Treatment duration and dosing vary according to the condition being treated. It can cause a fall in white blood cell count, and the dose may need to be reduced. Blood-count reductions may continue after treatment is stopped.
Zuberi tablet causes an effect on rapidly dividing cells like those of the bone marrow which is responsible for most of its side effects. Bone marrow suppression may affect white blood cells, platelets, and other blood cells and may be reversible if identified and managed early. Patients should look out for warning signs like skin rash, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, jaundice, persistent cough, seizures, nausea, vomiting, amenorrhea, or unusual lumps or masses, any of which should prompt contact with the prescribing physician.
Before starting treatment, patients should inform the doctor of any recent radiation therapy or chemotherapy, as Zuberi tablet may need to be delayed or adjusted following recent cytotoxic treatment.
Women should avoid getting pregnant while on treatment. A few patients can experience central nervous system effects such as tremors, confusion, agitation, ataxia, or hallucinations and should be cautious with driving or operating machinery. Patients should never take Zuberi tablet without ongoing medical supervision, given the need for regular blood monitoring throughout treatment.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Inform your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, supplements, and herbal products you take.
- Live vaccines are not recommended during treatment because of the risk of infection in immunocompromised patients. Medicines such as fludarabine, pentostatin, and cladribine may increase chlorambucil's cytotoxic effects.
- Tell your doctor if you have recently received chemotherapy or radiation therapy, as this may affect blood counts and treatment planning.
