Xultophy 100iu/3.6mg Pre Filled Pen Of 3ml Solution For Injection
Description
Xultophy Injection is a medication used for adults with type 2 diabetes who need better blood sugar control, even with diet, exercise, and other diabetes medicines. It is administered once daily, subcutaneously, in the thigh, upper arm, or abdomen, with or without food. Use it at the same time each day and rotate injection sites to prevent skin problems, such as thickening or pits.
Xultophy Injection combines two active ingredients. Insulin degludec is a long-acting insulin that provides steady insulin levels throughout the day and night, helping to lower blood sugar levels between meals and during sleep. Liraglutide helps your body release the right amount of insulin when needed, slows the rate at which food leaves your stomach, and lowers the amount of sugar produced by your liver. This helps keep your blood sugar levels more balanced, especially after eating.
Some common side effects include low blood sugar, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, dizziness, and stomach discomfort. You may also feel full quickly or have a reduced appetite. It is essential to recognise the symptoms of low blood sugar, including sweating, confusion, or feeling shaky. If these occur, notify your doctor immediately.
Certain medicines may interact with Xultophy Injection, including other diabetes drugs, blood pressure medicines, steroids, thyroid hormones, and birth control pills. Alcohol can also affect how this medicine works, so it is best to avoid drinking. If you are taking other medications or have underlying health conditions, please inform your doctor so they can adjust your treatment as necessary.
Store your Xultophy Injection in the refrigerator before opening. After opening, keep it at room temperature (below 30°C) or in the refrigerator. Always keep the pen cap on to prevent the pen from drying out or freezing. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as this medicine is not recommended in those situations.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Insulin degludec is a long-acting insulin that helps lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. After you inject it, it slowly releases into your body over time, providing a steady level of insulin throughout the day and night. This helps your body use sugar more effectively and prevents your blood sugar levels from becoming too high, especially between meals and during periods of rest....
- Liraglutide works by helping your body release the right amount of insulin when your blood sugar is high. It also lowers the amount of sugar made by your liver and slows down how quickly food leaves your stomach, which helps you feel full longer. This helps keep your blood sugar levels more stable, especially after meals....
